This television drama series is based on a novel by Chinese contemporary writer, Bai Xin Yong. It depicts the legend of Madame Chin or Jin Zhao Li (played by the gorgeous Fan Bingbing of China), who rises to prominence from a lowly ballroom dancer in old Shanghai, and her intertwined relationships with three men, Sheng Yue Ru (Vic Chou of Taiwan), Guo Shi Hong (Alex Fong of Hong Kong), and Jin Zhao Liang (Eric Shao of Taiwan).

Among other cast members are Fann Wong of Singapore, Anthony Wong of Hong Kong, and Paul Chun of Hong Kong.

Zhao Li was also known as the Kuan Yin Goddess as she was always helping people in need and most of the time, she neglects her own happiness for the sake of others.
According to reports (*as per chinadaily), Jin Da Ban's production team moves among the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia to shoot the entire 36 episodes.A must watch for those television drama lovers out there. From the story line to props to scenery to the acting is superb.
